Grab Buckets

Simplex manufactures a variety of cost and work efficient Grab Buckets, including high technology Radio Remote Control Grab Buckets, for diverse bulk material handling applications in various industries like Shipping, Steel, Cement, Fertilizers, Mines, Ports, Power Plants, etc. Products range includes tiny 0.2 Cubic Metre Grabs to giant sized 42.25 Cubic Metre Grabs. Higher sizes can be designed and manufactured on request.

Remote Controlled Grab Buckets

Simplex has indigenously developed (Import substitution) Radio Remote Control Grab Bucket for the first time in the country, specifically for ship loading and unloading. This system is generally provided on single rope hook on type Clam Shell and Multi Line Grab Buckets which have a hydraulic operating system. The opening and closing cycle of the Grab Bucket is controlled through transmitter and receiver units.

These Grabs Buckets are available in the capacity from 4 cubic meters to 12 cubic meters. Higher capacity grab bucket can be also designed and manufactured on demand.

Simplex manufactures Grabs of the following types:

• No power supply required as it has its own inbuilt Hydraulic power supply system.
• Rechargeable Battery operated and does not require power or separate hydraulic power pack from the ship for the Crane.
• Power consumption is low, 24V Battery (2 no's. 12V in series) is sufficient for 3-4 days operation.
• Operated by Remote Control unit at a distance of 100 to 300 feet away from the Grab Bucket and thus it is safe & comfortable for the operator.
• Protection is provided to prevent mis-operation of the Grab by foreign radio wave.
• Grab opening can be controlled at any interval of time to discharge the cargo into limited opening of hoppers.
• Receiver/transmitter frequencies are encoded at factory, so that multiple Grab Buckets can operate in close proximity with respective unit only.
• Removable spill plates are provided for multiple capacities.
• Strong grabbing power.
• Manual mechanism provided for emergency operation.
• Opening of Grab can be controlled at any interval of time for control discharge of cargo.
• Opening time of the Grab is 12 to 14 seconds with good crane more than 20 cycles per hour material to be handled.
• Low maintenance compared to Electro Hydraulic Grab Bucket/Mechanical Grab Bucket.
• Easy operation by pressing the transmitter switch.
• Operating cost is less compared to Electro Hydraulic Grab Bucket.
